Many of you have met Sami from Massaya following his near-annual visits over the past 20 years. It helps with the material he has to work with, but he is a captivating orator who somehow shares a different take on his remarkable story with every visit.

Without wishing to sound too hammy, it's been an immense privilege to meet so many inspirational people in the world of wine over the past 25 years, none more so than the Ghosn brothers, Sami and Ramzi. We've dealt with a few road closures and the odd armed robbery over the years- barely worth a mention next to the seismic events they've dealt with over that time. We've become great friends over the years and it was great to get out there again and see what they’ve been up to whilst all hell broke loose yet again. Lovely to see the next generation (see pic) grow up into beautiful humans, waiting in the wings to continue the brothers' profound commitment to their land, their vines and their people. The wines are better than ever, and I managed to secure a very special magnum bottling of a masterful Syrah Mourvèdre blend to commemorate, you guessed it, our 25th anniversary! Hoping we’ll be able to get it over in time for the dinner.

As if it wasn’t special enough to welcome Sami back again, we’re going overboard with a ‘collab’ with legendary chef, Mark Hix MBE. Best known perhaps for his role as head chef at Le Caprice, before opening a number of restaurants, writing 12 cookbooks and a regular column in the Telegraph. Can’t wait to see what extraordinary creations he comes up with, alongside our legendary chef Rich. I’m sure he’ll head out of the kitchen to share a few of his tales too.

Tickets will go on general sale on 1st April but can be bought ahead of this with the infamous 6bt trigger. Feel free to buy on-line here if you’re struggling to get in.
