Terms and Conditions
These terms apply to all sales processed on the website.
Unless otherwise stated, prices on this site are per bottle, in Pounds Sterling, inclusive of VAT and duty, and exclusive of delivery charges.
(Please see FAQs for further details of delivery charges.) Prices are provisional and subject to our confirmation.
Payment will be processed upon receipt of order, but will not be processed until the availability of all products on the order is confirmed. If you prefer to pay by cheque or bank transfer, please check the box marked 'I will contact you to arrange alternative payment' during the checkout procedure.
- Title and Risk
We shall retain title to all goods until such time as payment has been collected in full and the goods are in your actual possession. Risk in all goods shall pass to you once availability of all goods on the order is confirmed and payment has been processed.
- Product availability
All wines are offered subject to remaining unsold. We will endeavour to keep the wine listings as accurate as possible, but cannot guarantee the availability of featured wines. We reserve the right to offer limited availability products with a restriction on the maximum number of bottles allowed per customer.
Any indication as to when wines will be available for delivery or collection is an estimate only and is not intended to be binding. We use a national courier service that operates an overnight service, for which orders need to be processed before 12.00pm. Overnight delivery is not guaranteed.
Deliveries are made Monday to Friday. We do not send out orders on Fridays to reduce the risk of damage to goods. As a result, orders processed after 12.00pm Thursday will not be delivered before the following Tuesday. Please contact us regarding weekend deliveries, which can be arranged at an additional cost. For orders marked for collection from the Sandiway store, we will contact you as soon as the order is completed.
Please note that website orders can only be delivered to mainland UK addresses.
You undertake to inspect all goods immediately upon delivery or collection.
Please notify ourselves or the courier within 24 hours of any shortage, damage or discrepancy. You will be deemed to have accepted the goods as satisfying your order three days after collection/delivery.
- Returns Policy
We will be happy to refund or replace wines that are out of condition through oxidation or cork taint. You undertake to return affected bottles to the Sandiway store with a minimum fill of two thirds within 48 hours of opening so that we can assess the fault. We regret we cannot offer refunds for wines that have been opened and have not been to your taste. We will however, be happy to exchange unopened wines purchased from us within 30 days. Wines purchased beyond 30 days will be considered at our discretion.
- Force Majeure
We shall not be liable for any failure to meet our obligations occasioned by circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
- Description and Condition
We undertake the proper safekeeping and storage of wines in our possession and buy wines from reputable sources. We do not ship wines in mid-summer or mid-winter to minimise the impact of adverse temperatures. Our descriptions of wines featured on the website are correct to the best of our knowledge.
All our contracts are made under English Law and are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English Courts.
- You must be at least 18 years of age to purchase any alcoholic product. By placing your order on our website, on the phone, or in person at our store, you are hereby representing to us that you are at least 18. All products delivered must be received by an adult of at least 18 years old.
